RIP Don S Davis - 1942 - 2008

Having met the great man myself a couple of years ago, I am devasted to hear this news today. The man was amazing, not just as an actor but as person. I met him in London and he had the whole audience captivated with his stories, both personal and from Stargate.

My thoughts are with his friends and family at this time.

Oh no, how very shocking and sad this is to hear :(

Don Davis was a legendary actor in my book. The kind of actor who's played so many roles that everybody has seen him.

The Stargate franchise, and entertainment in general, has suffered a loss.

He will be missed.

A leader and a friend has passed. There are few that can be both a leader and a friend and he pulled it off nicely.

A nice update to this story, if there ever could be one.

This past weekend has seen Gatecon held in Vancouver - and they had a very special guest indeed ... Ruby Fleming-Davis (Don S Davis' wife).

Gateworld reports on the story here: http://www.gateworld.net/news/2008/08/r ... _don.shtml

I love the fact that she got a standing ovation from the fans and teared up when I saw the lovely memorial they had put out in the dealers room. The Stargate fandom is just the best that way!

Included in Gateworld's piece is what Ruby said to the fans, it's extremely touching.

Very moving indeed, and certainly a fine way to remember a great actor. Thank you for sharing this update with us Carter.
