I have a 2018 Compass that has been giving me grief with the transmission, it shudders when I accelerate from a stop and sometimes hesitates before engaging. Took it to a local garage near my place and the guy told me it is normal for these cars, which I know is rubbish because it did not do this when I bought it. A mate from my gym mentioned there are certified Jeep mechanics in Industrial Area 10 and said I should stop wasting time with general shops, but I wanted to check here first before driving out there. The thing is, I do not want to end up at a place that only says they work on Jeeps but actually just does oil changes and tire rotations. Has anyone here actually had transmission work done on a Compass or Cherokee and can tell me if the shop knew what they were doing? Also does anyone know if these transmissions usually need a software update or if it is something mechanical?
