MGM was bound to bring back Stargate at some point. The shows are regularly counted among MGM's most lucrative properties. Today they announced just how they are doing it. According to the details from the Stargate press release shared on Stargate Legacy, there will be a new web series comprised of 10 episodes, each running 10 minutes long. The episodes will basically add up to the length of a made-for-tv movie.

I think that the real story here is the new Stargate Command website that they are launching. This is being positioned as a new home for Stargate online, and could become an avenue for bigger (BIGGER!) Stargate projects.

Here's hoping that this is just the gate being opened, and MGM shows the franchise some of the love that it is due.
