If you have been diving into the latest Path of Exile 2 update, you might want to hold off on your usual inventory habits when visiting vendors. A severe new bug introduced in Patch 0.5.4 is catching players completely off guard, wiping out hours of hard-earned progression in a single click. Grinding Gear Games (GGG) has officially acknowledged the issue, which is causing players to lose their entire stash of Verisium when trying to buy the newly added Liquid Verisium currency from the NPC Farrow.

The issue boils down to a classic muscle-memory shortcut: using Shift + Ctrl + Left Click to quick-buy items. If you use this shortcut in Farrow's shop menu, the game accidentally consumes every single piece of Verisium in your inventory or stash, but only gives you a fraction of the Liquid Verisium you actually paid for—or worse, leaves you entirely empty-handed.

The Scale of the Loss and Developer Response
Over on the official Path of Exile forums, the bug reports are piling up quickly. Frustrated players are sharing horror stories of losing tens of thousands of Verisium instantly due to this inventory management error. For anyone pushing deep into the endgame or meticulously farming materials, losing a massive bulk stash to a simple UI shortcut is a brutal setback.

Fortunately, the dev team is on it. GGG confirmed via their official Path of Exile X (Twitter) account that they are actively investigating the root cause and are working on a hotfix deployment to patch the leak. In the meantime, however, resource safety is entirely in the players' hands.

UI Quirks vs. Intended Mechanics
While the complete deletion of Verisium is a verified bug, Patch 0.5.4 also brought a couple of other major changes to Liquid Verisium mechanics that have left the community a bit confused. Some players have mistaken these updates for UI bugs, though they are actually working as intended:

Locked UI Selection: When you use Liquid Verisium to upgrade a standalone Runic Remnant, the game automatically locks in a random choice. A few players initially thought that being unable to select alternative options in Grand Expeditions was a UI glitch, but developers have explicitly confirmed that the outcome is supposed to be random and non-selectable.

Console UI Overlap: There is a legitimate interface conflict happening on consoles. When players hold down the interaction button to apply Liquid Verisium, it simultaneously triggers a shortcut that instantly activates the remnant. This causes the entire UI window to vanish prematurely, making the process feel jarring and broken.

Temporary Workarounds: How to Protect Your Stash
Until GGG rolls out an official hotfix, you should be incredibly careful when trading. To ensure you don't lose your stash, strictly adhere to the following steps:

Avoid All Shortcuts: Do not use Shift + Ctrl + Left Click for any interactions inside Farrow's shop menu.

Stick to Manual Purchases: Buy your Liquid Verisium by manually picking it up and placing it into your inventory grid to make sure individual transactions register correctly.

Isolate Your Main Stash: Keep your bulk Verisium stored safely away from your active inventory when visiting vendors, reducing the risk of an accidental full-stack deletion.
