Here's a new mold. This will be a one part, open top mold. I framed the original prop with a wooden box, and then poured the silicone into the box. This gives the mold fairly thin walls, saving on rubber and making it easier to demold. The rubber is confirmed exactly to the size of the wood box, so ...

Ever since a friend of mine and I have been sitting in our astrophysics lecture and instead of paying attenion talked about ZPM's, I've wanted to build one. I was wondering if anyone has measurements of the original prop or knows it's dimensions? I can tell you exactly. The original prop is a littl...

I will have an original in my shop soon!

In terms of the electronics, your plan will probably work just fine. I can give you more ideas of the number of LEDs and intensity once I have a chance to work on the screen used one.

P90 Resin Receiver

Some beauty shots of my latest P90 receiver build. These continue to be wildly popular for Stargate costumers. For a complete P90 this has to be paired with body of a P90 airsoft gun. Most people will buy a cheap electric airsoft P90 online and cut off the old receiver. The replacement can then be i...

What's In The Mold?

Since I will be making many molds for new projects, here is a new and wonderful game of guessing what is in the mold.

The first two molds are cavity pour molds (aka matrix molds) made with Plasti-Paste Epoxy.

If there is any interest in a screen accurate ZPM then we would definitely make them. Tons of 3D printed ones floating around out there, but wrong size, wrong colors. Since most of what SG1Props does is based off originals, that would be how we would do a ZPM... if people were interested 8)

I decided to use aluminum for the side rails on this prop instead of resin. Although this will cost a bit more, the quality will be higher, and it will be more like the original prop than if they were resin cast with aluminum powder. Will also be stronger, which I have found to be necessary after ev...

Recently picked up Nicole de Boer's costume from Stargate Atlantis. This is from the all female unit in the episode Whispers. Great condition, with original mission patch and US flag. Jacket, tank top, and pants are all custom made, no BDUs. Very simple cut, but much more unique in my opinion than a...

Creation Entertainment is back in 2019 after a 3 year break with the official Stargate convention! It will return to the lovely Westin O’Hare, and is right around the corner this June 21-23. This year, MGM’s SG Command will be attending as an official partner, and will surely bring opportunities for...

The official Stargate community at SG Command has labeled 2019 as “The Year Of The Gate”. Tips To Minimize Air Bubbles In Casting

Some of the things I’ve learned over the years about minimizing air bubbles. When in a liquid form, resin is susceptible to air bubbles like any other liquid. The lower the viscosity the harder it is for air bubbles to escape. When liquid resin cures, these air bubbles can be trapped at the surface ...

Hi Greg, great to have you here on the website. From your comments on the ribbon device and zat gun it seems like you got to work on many "iconic" props from the series. What are you up to nowadays? Still in the industry, or have you moved onto other pursuits?

VIP is getting a lot of flack around the internet for this auction . I think most people around here are aware of the Distortions Unlimited masks that were sold in the 90s, but newer fans would have no idea that these masks are replicas. Granted, they have listed two masks and one piece of set decor...

in Stargate Atlantis season three, particularly S3 E12, did I notice some 3 rail P90s? I think Mr. Woolsey was handed one by General O'Neil. All it had on it was a flashlight on the right rail. Correct. There were a few episodes where the P90 TR (Triple Rail) version was used. http://www.sg1props.c...

This makes life easier for the producers too. Gives them a little more flexibility in choosing what looks good on screen.

Drilling through the Ring Sight would be the way to go. A horizontal drilling setup might be necessary unless you can make a jig to hold the sight vertically.

Saying that, now you've got me thinking about putting a pipe or acrylic rod into the mold prior to casting.
